Privacy Policy

The short version

ADA SafeCheck is built privacy-first. The extension performs accessibility scans locally inside your browser against the page you are viewing. Page content and scan findings from the extension are not uploaded to us.

If you use the free website check on this site, or purchase a subscription, the sections below explain what is processed and why.

What the extension processes

When you run a scan, the extension reads the rendered DOM of the active tab to run the axe-core rule engine. This processing happens on your device. A compliance score, severity summary and report are generated locally. No page content, URLs or findings from the extension are transmitted to us. Deleting the extension removes any local data associated with it.

The extension contacts our license server only to validate a paid license key. That request includes the license key and a device identifier, and is used solely to enforce device limits.

The free website check

When you submit a URL to the hosted check on this website, our server visits that public URL to examine its HTML. Unlike the extension, this check is performed on our infrastructure: the submitted URL and basic scan output are processed and may be logged for abuse prevention, security and quality purposes. We do not use submitted URLs for advertising or profiling, and we do not require an account.

Purchases and license delivery

Subscriptions are processed by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as our merchant of record. When you buy a plan, Lemon Squeezy collects your payment details (such as card and billing information) under its own privacy policy, and we receive your name, email address, plan and billing status from the transaction. We use this information to deliver your license key, activate devices, provide support and keep required transaction records.

Information you send us

If you email support@adasafecheck.com or book a demo, we receive the information you choose to share (such as your name, email and company) and use it only to respond to your request.

Analytics and cookies

This marketing website may use privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics to count anonymous page views. We do not sell personal data, do not build advertising profiles, and do not use tracking technologies that respond to Do Not Track signals in a different way than described here. You can block analytics in your browser settings.

Service providers (processors)

We rely on a small number of processors: Cloudflare (hosting and infrastructure), Lemon Squeezy (merchant of record and payments), an email provider for license delivery, and privacy-friendly analytics. Each processes data only on our instructions and under its own terms and privacy practices.

Retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above: transaction records for as long as required by tax and accounting law, support correspondence while resolving your request and for a reasonable period afterwards, and abuse-prevention logs for a limited security window.

Security

We use HTTPS in transit, restrict access to data on a need-to-know basis, and rely on our infrastructure providers' physical and network security. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we design the Service so that sensitive page content never reaches our servers in the first place.

Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Your privacy rights (US state laws)

Depending on your state — including California (CCPA/CPRA), Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon and Montana — you may have the right to know what personal information we collect, to access it, to correct it, to delete it, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA, so no "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link is required.

To exercise a right, email support@adasafecheck.com with the subject line "Privacy Request". We may need to verify your identity before acting. We respond within the timeframes required by applicable law (45 days for CCPA requests, extendable once).

Authorized agents may submit requests on your behalf with written permission or a power of attorney, as required by law.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the date below. Continued use of the extension or website after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
